To Whom It May Concern:

I am pleased to offer my recent experience working with Tommy Flagg. I have only known Mr. Flagg a short while, but have been very impressed with his experience, insight and teaching skills.

Mr. Flagg and I met this past spring, when he was recommended to me by a colleague in Drexel's Performing Arts department to be a guest speaker in my "Strategic Management for Entertainment & the Arts" class. He has a diverse background as an artist, producer, entrepreneur and philanthropist which gives him a unique perspective on art and business.

His lecture, given extemporaneously, was stimulating, interactive and thought provoking. The students, most of whom were freshmen, were engaged and interested. Mr. Flagg did something that is almost impossible when teaching a room full of freshmen - he got them to ask and answer questions! There was quite a line of students waiting to speak to him after class, and one of my students is planning to intern for him this summer.

I wish I had videotaped his lecture, so that I could use it again. Instead, I will just have to impose on Mr. Flagg to repeat his presentation next year.

Please let me know if you need any additional information. Thanks!

Sincerely,

Lawrence Epstem, Program Director

Dear Tommy,

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Dance New Amsterdam, allow me to express my sincerest regrets that you have chosen to resign. Your contributions and superior expertise have been invaluable to the organization throughout your service. Your ongoing passion and commitment to the art of dance, and to young dancers striving to succeed in the field, is exemplary. DNA was honored to have you as a member of our Board and fortunate indeed to benefit from your participation in our work. You shall be sorely missed by the institution, and most especially by the members of the Board.

I wish to thank you specifically for some of your generous contributions to DNA:

You organized and hosted a wonderful fall weekend at your farm in Frenchtown, New Jersey, where the board was able to meet in delightful surroundings for a working retreat and focus on the tasks at hand. We were provided with first class support and accommodations, and when not working, we were feted and entertained to the hilt. From my perspective as Board Chair, this weekend provided a perfect opportunity for the Board to cohere as a working body and to prepare for the work that lay before us.

“Isadora Duncan Goes Downtown”, an event which you brought to DNA, gave us the opportunity to celebrate our early dance history onstage and in our gallery, bringing many new dance enthusiasts into our space. In the future, we hope to bring some of those audience members into our DNA community.

In addition, you have introduced us to many professionals from the dance field, and from other fields, who had skills and expertise to offer DNA. I have yet to mention the vast extent of your own experience working in the commercial dance world and the insightful perspective that this brought to the challenges we faced on the Board. It was always invaluable, and often critical, to our decision making process.

I cannot thank you enough, Tommy, for all of your efforts. Your spirited presence will be missed, and I wish you the very best.

Very Truly Yours,

Susan Matthews, DNA Board Chair

To Whom It May Concern:

I would like to highly recommend Thomas K. Flagg for the position of Assistant Professor, Arts Administrator, at Drexel University's Westphal College of Media Arts and Design. My previous work for Thomas has included projects through his company, Terpsichore Entertainment, in 2006 and 2007. I have also observed his fine leadership through his services as a board member of Dance New Amsterdam. In my current position as Director of Career Services at The Juilliard School I continue to call upon Thomas on a regular basis for myself and my students as a colleague and "go-to-guy" in the performing arts.

As founder of Terpsichore Entertainment, Thomas, has always been able to effectively impart vision, compile dynamic and harmonious teams, and see a project through to the finish. His infectious hard work ethic and desire to see the performing arts flourish always brought the team members a sense of energy and inspiration. The projects on which we have collaborated dealt with bridging together the concert and commercial worlds of performing arts. His integration of this unique mission into his work is helping to sustain the careers of many performers and institutions.

Thomas' innovative construction of new business models on the strong traditions of the performing arts is a concept that has also benefited the students I work with at Juilliard. Recently, he conducted two seminars on how musicians, dancers and actors can better utilize their training and skills to open additional career opportunities. His advice on everything from networking through the Association of Performing Arts Presenters to preparing creative promotional and marketing materials proved extremely helpful to students in navigating their careers. His ability to relay information while adding his own charm and sense of humor brings his concepts to life and allows him to better relate to students.

Through my experience working with Thomas, he has proven himself a versatile, active, and involved business leader in the performing arts. His energetic and proactive approach to help launch careers of performing artists, arts administrators, budding companies and organizations is a unique gift that highly would benefit any institution.

Sincerely,

Courtney Blackwell, Director

To whom this may concern,

I have known Thomas Flagg of Terpsichore Management for over four years. As an international dancer looking to migrate to the United States to work, I contacted him regarding representation. Terpsichore Management is a unique company that gives a dancer the opportunity to be groomed for both the commercial and concert dance worlds. As a manager Thomas takes the time to introduce his clients to influential industry leaders, provides them with opportunities to attend prestigious events in the dance world, guides and hones in on the clients image, schedules meetings and/or auditions with agents and/or dance companies, shares his contacts for promotional material development, and negotiates contracts to the highest degree -- all while keeping the clients best interests a priority. As an international client Thomas assisted me with locating and working with legal consultation to obtain the proper work documents, completing immigration sponsorship documents, finding housing, and provided the constant support necessary to allow me a smooth integration into the American lifestyle and entertainment sector.

Thomas is careful in the clients he selects, knowing they will also be representing him and his company. He scouts various classes at top studios in search of dancers he feels have the potential for success. He is concise about what he can do for them before a business relationship is formed. It is up to the client to decide whether to work with Thomas -- there is never any pressure and his intentions are always clear and in the best interest of the dancer or choreographer. If Thomas decides to represent a dancer, he works tirelessly to assist them in achieving the goals they've outlined. Because of his extensive experience he understands all facets of the business and provides his clients with emotional and honest support. He is 100% available to clients, from anything for a phone call to attending their performances or classes.

Terpsichore Management is more than an agency. It is a company that provides support and guidance to its clients. My experience working with Thomas has been nothing short of professional and pleasant. As a person he is caring, true to his word, and honest (which is a difficult attribute to find in this business). As a manager he believes in you as much, if not more, than you believe in yourself, and promotes you in a positive manner to every person he speaks with. I value Thomas' opinion and friendship and I am sure that anyone who is lucky enough to work with him will feel the same way. A person who takes the time out to come and actually see dancers in class and at work is truly a gift to our industry comprised of agents and managers who are often too busy to meet their clients needs. By working with Thomas I have achieved progress that would have taken me years otherwise, and for that I am sincerely thankful. His company provides what many dancers are missing: someone who pushes for the best conditions and artistic quality. I am truly grateful that Thomas recognized my talent and potential and took the initiative to work with me.

Should you have any other questions or comments please contact me at anytime at 416-885-7142

Sincerely,

Dear Tommy,

Arika and I would like to express our deepest appreciation for all of your support and kindness over the years. Since we met in 2001 at the dance studio in Los Angeles, you have been an excellent manager. You have always been there to provide guidance and opportunities to further Arika's education and career path.

You introduced us to outstanding dance teachers from all over the world, provided us with numerous audition opportunities, and most importantly, have always treated us as members of your family. You took action and supported me when I was in a dangerous situation in the hospital, and you were there for Arika when she had knee surgery. You made it a priority to attend Arika's performances -- whether they were on the West Coast, East Coast, and anywhere in between. You even drove in a snow storm to see Arika when she was at the boarding school in Connecticut.

Many foreigners attempt to realize the "American Dream" and become US citizens. In my case I had a difficult time living in the US because of my immigration status, but with your help recently received my green card. This was a difficult process that never would have happened without your support and advocacy. You are a sincere person who became our co-sponsor, and made my 20-year dream come true. I could have never achieved this milestone without you.

Arika will graduate from the Juilliard School in May with a great repertoire and a job opportunity in Europe. She will be able to further her success because you have given her the keys to open the doors of opportunity around the world. (And she will be able to do this with confidence and without having to worry about me because of my United States citizenship.)

You are a most respectable person with a real heart and passion for dance, who selflessly contributes his time and energy to others. In order to achieve success in the international world of dance, more people should have the opportunity to tap your incredible ability, talent, and expertise in this field. You are a devoted advocate for dance. I truly believe your unwavering commitment has created a new public awareness and elevated the status of this art form.

Thank you so very much for all of your support.

Best regards,

Fumie Yamada

To whom it may concern,

I have known Tommy for over 4 years now, having met him through friends of mine who were clients of his in Los Angeles. We instantly formed a friendship through our common interest in the dance and entertainment fields. At the time I was in a contract dancing on a cruise ship and even though I wasn’t a client of his, Tommy recognized my passion and introduced me to a range of classes and dance shows in a city that was quite foreign to me.

Once I decided to pursue my dream of coming to the United States to work, Tommy was the first person I called. After a few phone meetings (as I was living and working in Paris at the time) and showing him all my materials he decided we could work together to build my career in the US and we started our formal agreement.

Tommy steered me in the right direction by recommending a great immigration lawyer – someone he knew would get the job done well. He kept in touch throughout the entire process and provided continued support to make it easier and less daunting.

Since arriving in the States, I am extremely impressed with Tommy’s dedication to me, my career, and his knowledge of the industry. In the first few days I saw some fantastic dance shows and was introduced to many influential people in the industry. He is in constant contact and helps out with the everyday things (driving me to classes, apartment hunting, etc.) making the transition of moving to New York much easier.

Tommy is professional to the highest degree and his honest manner in dealing with my career has given me great confidence in him, as both a manager and an industry professional.

I have a lot of respect for Tommy and would certainly recommend him as a manager to future clients.

Please feel free to contact me for further information.
